Now that is a nice thing to come just before Easter. A provisional 3 month contract which should translate into a permanent post after that. (No worse than a 3 month probationary period which you get in every job in this industry.) Interesting work too. Early days though. Paper work to be sorted. But it sounds [...] You’d think with all this being unemployed I’d be blogging more. However, it seems I am filling my lazy days with other activities. Granted I’ve fired off a number of job applications and swotted up a lot but I seem to be filling the rest of the day with watching Pocoyo with Yoda and scratching [...] Well it has been almost a week since I cleared my desk. I’d like to say I’ve decorated the spare room, reorganised the garage, taught Yoda Tai-chi and fixed everything in the house that is broken, but … I haven’t. Instead I’ve been diligently job hunting and watched way too much daytime TV. Daytime TV, as [...] What to report? Not a lot. I’ve been keeping my head down a bit. Learning a bit of Java and applying for jobs (nothing successful to date). Not a lot about at the moment. Down with some terrible temperature and headache last night. Felt like death, but a good weekend none-the-less. Yoda and L had been [...] Corn fed chicken stuffed with goats cheese, fresh basil and sun “blushed” tomatoes, wrapped in Parma ham and baked. Served on a bed of rocket, water cress and braised leaks. All washed down with a gallon of champers. Loverly-bloody-juvely if I say so myself. Yes, we had a pretty good Valentine’s this year (Patron Saint [...] Prospects look very grim at work. Very grim indeed. Back to the hiring fair soon me thinks If you ever feel tempted to put your CV on Monster.co.uk (a popular job website) and click that button marked “public” my advice is don’t. At 9 am this morning I discovered that there are thousands of job agents in the UK and every last one has a telephone. 15 calls by 10am and I removed [...] Well on the 18th I came into work and before long was ushered into the boss’s office. Now this is the boss with whom I have never discussed anything with in the last 6 years apart from the quality of coffee from the machine where we usually meet. So this wasn’t going to be good.
