[WARNING: info dump] The move went well. The lawyer was a bit shaken after me roaring at her and seemed to buck up her ideas [...] Sorry for the long absence. I’ve been very ill (flu type bug) and may disappear for a bit again. Some of you may have noticed my phone wasn’t correctly ported over to the new gaff. The phone companies (there are two) inform me that this will be fixed on Wednesday and I’ll be back to [...] We had a man round the other day there to take away our rubbish. We are proud recyclers, but when the amount gets to skip size then our conscience is sullied somewhat. A skip wouldn’t fit at the rear of the house and there has been no time to get a permit at the front [...] Got a call from the building society. Seems the building society handling my current mortgage want £100 – count them £100!!! to give me a reference. L’s mortgage company also want £70 to say she’s not a villain. So £170 plus £300 survey on the house (on top of the £500 house buyers report) before they’ll [...] Just sent off more docco for the mortage. It has been 7 weeks now since we agreed to sell/buy homes. 7 weeks and we’re looking at a few weeks more. I feel very, very low. I phoned the building society dealing with the mortgage on our new place this morning. Seems things have started to move. Aggressive pushing seems to have moved things along a bit. “We were hoping to be in by the end of the month. Is that likely?” “Yes.” I was stunned. I had literally given up hope. However they [...] Went round to see the house last night and its looking pretty fabby. I hope we get nice tenants. It looks a good place to live. Its very airy and bright and no smell from the new carpets (they seem to felt-back them now rather than using rubber. Now all we have to do is [...] Well, the carpet dudes are in the house as I speak. I managed to get back last night and clear all the junk outside the house into the skip in time. L came round and we lifted the cooker in as well (with the help of a neighbour). We pretty much filled the skip. The [...] Just got a call from Lucy to say the skip has arrived. I hope we manage to get all our crap in it before the neighbours start dumping their junk in it. I’m busy tonight, tomorrow morning and tomorrow evening so no time to actually dump stuff in it. Well a busy weekend. L and I spent Saturday and Sunday ripping carpets out of her old house. Fitters are coming on Thursday so we had to get these old ones out first. L’s dad came up on the Sunday to help. Whilst he and L were doing some painting I was in the kitchen. [...] |
