Rather a good bluegrass session at The Six Bells last night. Not many people turned up but the few that were there were on grand form. This was the perfect occasion for me to use my groovy new recorder. I have a brain like a sieve and can never remember a tune for long. But [...]
A rather busy and good week.
I started by finally getting to the Bluegrass session which is now resident at The Cricketers pub in town. A good turn out and a lot of new people. The profile seems to be a pile of new people and a few ninja players who really are spectacularly good. As [...]
We’ve been holidaying. Not away-away, just on holiday – at home like. Due to recession, job commitments and rather tedious hospital appointments we’d decided we’d stay at home and if the weather was grand, venture to a Norfolk beach.
Splendid weather did indeed appear but not on any day we had clear for beach activities. Instead [...]
Turned up to the Salisbury Arms Bluegrass session last night with banjo and mandolin. I went because nobody went in December and there was a danger it might fold. Despite being whacked I thought I better canter along to keep numbers up for a bit and also to try and see if I could glean [...]

In the pipeline I’ve (poorly) clattered out 2 postings on recent events. Yet the drafts [...]
The monthly bluegrass session has moved from The Zebra to The Salisbury Arms. I’m glad because The Zebra stank and had a very aggressive atmosphere in it. The Salisbury is also in the heart of Wheeliebinland and one of my old drinking holes. It has a back room and better atmosphere.
This said I was a [...]

1952 Vincent Lightening
Willy O’ Winsbury
Ally Bally Bee
Tank Park Salute
The Shearin’s No For You
Barnacle Bill

On The Trail of the Lonesome [...]
